Oruwa Boutique Villas in Sri Lanka
From the view of a lagoon that is crowned by a cornucopia of radiant greenery, to an unconventionally structured sequence of rocks, each one relating a different story, ‘Oruwa’ introduces you to the glory of Natures poetry. We are located in Arugam-bay, amidst one of the most vibrant communities of the nation – the fisheries community. The Sinhalese name ‘Oruwa’ which translates to ‘boat’, was used as a tribute to the hardships and the burning passion of the fisheries community, beneath which, the future of our heritage and prosperity lies. Your voyage of the rich Sri Lankan heritage and its multifaceted topography begins at Oruwa.

Tales & Awards
This hotel was excellent. The staff were so attentive to everything we needed. It is a little out from town but Isaac the owner will sort everything for you. The room was one of the best we have had in Sri Lanka and the breakfast was excellent. We can’t fault this place! Highly recommend.
Great property, stylish and very spacious modern rooms! The hotel manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. He even did a free little safari with us and drove us to wild crocodiles and elephants. The free shuttle service to the city worked great and was always required via WhatsApp. Thus, you had a good combination of quiet waterfront location and good connection to the city. The monkeys in the trees outside the room were a personal plus for us. 🙂
We loved our stay at Oruwa. The hotel is super nice and quiet, with great views over the lagoon-we saw elephants right in front of the hotel. It’s a little set away from the main town of Arugambay, but we didn’t mind that at all as we primarily came to relax. They also offered a complimentary shuttle into town. The pool and restaurant are also super nice - I recommend getting the Sri Lankan breakfast.
